This October is Good Food East Sussex Month

In October 2023, organisations and communities across East Sussex will be coming together to hold the first ever Good Food East Sussex Month.

There will be a series of events across the county celebrating everything food in East Sussex, and exploring how we can build a food system that works for our people, our economy and environment. Find out what’s going on by getting in touch with your local food partnership: Lewes District Food Partnership @lewesdistrictfoodpartnership

Food summits, talks and discussions, volunteering, apple harvesting, picking and preserving workshops! Plus events around Challenge Poverty Week 16th-22nd of October.

How to get involved…

  1. One of the goals of the month is to promote local food businesses and organisations, so we’re asking everyone to get in touch and share with us your favourite local places to eat.
  2. Sign up to one of the events we have on across the county – email goodfoodeastsussex@gmail.com to be added to the mailing list for updates across East Sussex. Or info@lewesdistrictfoodpartnership.org for info about what’s happening in the Lewes District.
  3. Share the Good Food East Sussex Month calendar of events, for example putting it up in your shop window, reception, adding it to your newsletter etc.
  4. Host a one-off food related event such as planting day at a community garden or community meal, or promote any events you’re already holding in October by sharing it in the Good Food East Sussex Month calendar. *GRANTS AVAILABLE*
