Rodmell Food Forest Volunteer Day | 10am5pm (drop in sessions, 3 hours minimum).

Volunteering sessions open to all. Learn about food cultivation, forest gardening, low-impact living and permaculture design. A big hearty organic vegetarian lunch is included as a thank you for your efforts.

Every Saturday

Lovebrook Farm Saturdays. Visit the local and organic farm shop and café from 9am3pm. The whole family can join in seasonal nature activities, crafting, planting, nature connection and farm fun between 122pm. You can also take advantage of £5 drop-in sauna sessions between 10am2pm

This event will explore the many topics in ensuring a more secure, healthier, fairer and viable UK food system, accessible to all.

Speakers: Stuart Gillespie (Author – Food Fight), Minette Batters (Defra) and Alliance of Sussex Food Partnerships.

Following the speakers and panel discussion, the Alliance of Sussex Food Partnerships will be hosting a workshop on key questions for the upcoming Sussex Mayoral elections.

Eat Well for Less Workshop | Greencuisine Trust | Denton Island Community Centre Kitchen | 10am–1:30pm | Tiered pricing, from £40 to £85 (some free places available upon enquiry)

In this workshop, Daphne will explore how to save energy costs this winter using a Wonderbag™, which uses simple heat retention technology to cook food. The session will also cover traditional techniques of preparing food, including soaking, sprouting and fermenting, which can have nutritional benefits. Everyone will leave with recipes and their very own Wonderbag!
