On the 10th of December, Human Nature held its first Dinner with Purpose and auction event in a repurposed warehouse on the Phoenix Industrial Estate to raise money for the Lewes Food Banks.
Chef Daphne Lambert of Green Cuisine Trust cooked an incredible four-course vegetarian meal on the night, using locally sourced produce. Food and drink was kindly donated by Ashurst Organics, Burning Sky, Beak Brewery, Gun Brewery, Big Nose and Beardy Cider, Flint Owl Bakery, Only For Love, Wild Alchemy Kombucha, Sephie and Adrian Deacon and Cheese Please.
There was also an After Party with DJs Lazy Susan, which was attended by 250 people. Together the events raised more than £5,000 (the final total will be published once donations stop coming in).
There are three Food Banks in Lewes, each covering a different geographical area. For more information about the Food Banks and the work they do follow this link to the Emergency Food Network page of the website.
